As seen in Canadian Scrapbooker

Hi All!

a while ago i was asked to participate in the cover challenge for the summer issue of Canadian Scrapbooker, unfortunately i didn't make the cover but i did make it as one of the runner-ups.  You can find  my layout on the first page after the table of contents.  sorry i would give you the exact page numbers but i haven't gotten my free copy yet and my subscription just ran out.

so here's the layout i made for the cover.

materials:
cs: bazzill, doodlebug
pp: Jillibean Soup
ribbon: Maya Road
stamp: Stamping Bella
ink: Memento, copic (R59 on letter stickers to darken them), glimmer mist (lime and denim), zig marker
letters: Doodlebug, Rose Moka
other: Fiskars upper crest punch, Martha Stewart butterfly punch

isn't this little guy cute!

I also have two other layouts that were published in this issue... much older ones but i guess they were what they were looking for.

this was for a call for pictures with different views. It was also made while i was on the Just Cre8 DT with i believe the april or the may kit in 2008, don't remember the exact month.

And this is one of my favorites.  I never thought it would get picked up because there's not much work involved in making it, but the picture is just stunning, isn't it?  my hubby took it with his underwater camera when he went cenote diving in Playa Del Carmen, are you wondering where i was?  well i was back at the dive shop getting my certification, too bad i haven't had a chance to go diving since... hopefully soon.

oh yeah i almost forgot to tell you.... i was asked to try out for the fall cover challenge and they picked my layout to be published, i don't know yet if it's gonna be for the cover or as a finalist so i guess we'll have to wait and see. cross your fingers x x

updated: If you have this issue in your hands, you can see my layout on page 8,33 and 109! Three of my super talented friends are also in this issue: JJ (p.130), Erin (p.34) and Claude (p.45).

Wednesday PWCO free for all

Well, it's the end of my term with Paperworks Co.  It was a blast and i adored working for Peggy, she's fantastic!  But don't worry i'm not saying goodbye, i'll be staying on for another term!!! Yay!
So, for this term's final "official DT" assignment at PWCO I altered some metal water bottles for my boys.
i found these great metal water bottles at Walmart for only 7$ each.  I used some Staz-On ink and two different stamp collection to differenciate each bottle, i also used a Sharpie to add some bubbles on the blue bottle and some grass on the green one.
stamp: Aqua Amigos -Tommy the Turtle, Ollie the Octopus and Wallie the whale
ink: StazOn
other: metal water bottle, sharpie marker

stamps: Safari friends - Lucas the lion, Gordie the giraffe, Zoie the zebra
ink: StazOn
other: metal water bottle, sharpie marker

Check back on May 28th for the friend's and family PWCO blog hop
that will be the "unofficial" assignment :)

flashback

I realized that i never posted this.  This is what i had made my mom for X-mas 2009.  i bought a paper macher box at Omer DeSerres, it's like Michaels, and covered it with some of my favorite Cosmo Cricket papers.  I also bought a pack of blank cards with their envelops that fit perfectly in the box and decorated the cards with some paper scraps and some stamped images i had received from a swap i'd done on split coast stampers.  Since i didn't have the names and company names of the stamps i couldn't use them for cards that i would've submitted for publication so i used them for this project, they were perfect because i wanted different kind of images for different occasions.

i love this "heidi" image from TGF stamps

this one is my favorite card of the bunch, i love this Penny Black stamp with the poppies and butterflies

oh yeah and this is the tag i mage for her package, loosely bases on Tim Holtz's 12 tags of X-mas.  I stamped this little gorjuss girl on some vellum and colored her with my copics on the reverse side since copics and Staz On don't mix!

Oh and just a little reminder that Paperworks Co. is having a blog hop on May 28th

Boutique Tchoubi is now live!

I'm sending a huge shout out to my friend Nathalie, also known as Tchoubi.

Today is the grand opening of her Etsy shop.   I am so glad to have gotten to know her, our sons are the same age and will start school together in the fall and we have some of the same interests which is great and she has helped me out countless times lately (it helps that we live 2 min by foot from each other).  I am happy to call her my friend.

please go check out her shop she is super talented.  Also she regularly has projects and tutorials on her blog: Tchoubi:: petites histoires creatives

I will have a permanent link to her shop in my sidebar along with my other friend JJ's shop; Threading Lightly.  she makes camera straps using really nice materials such as Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket and she's also a wiz at crocheting and makes gorgeous crochet flowers.

Have a great day!
Bella

updated:  I'll be back later today to announce the winner of my blog candy from the PWCO blog hop!
